What movie(s) have you watched recently?

Post by Bossky on 4/10/2012, 3:27 am

Just watched Raiders of the Lost Ark, still one of the greatest movies of all time.

What movies have you guys and gals recently watched?

BTW, if there is a thread of this already then just delete this one, although I didn't see a topic about this.

Don't think we have a movie one, thanks!

Just re-watched Cast Away. Wow, saw a lot of things I missed.

Oh COME ON!

Can anyone either merge the topics or prepare for me to engage in "lawyer" mode?(essentially that means you have to give me good enough reason not to merge them, it's a fun game for the entire family...)

That is all about TV shows/cartoons. You specifically say that. This is movies. Different.

I looked through everything and double-checked criteria, this is a topic that is appropriate.

Also, ya' know what this is?

Just watched Star Wars, The Padawan Menace in Lego last week. Pretty childish but funny. I also went to see The Lorax with my little brother last night, nothing like the book but it was cute. I just watched Kangaroo Jack and Red Dog. I love both those movies. Saturday Night i am seeing the Hunger Games. I cant wait. Grin

Classic?

You must be joking me, compare that to Ben-Hur... Oh wait, there is no way to do so...

Only because you like a movie doesn't make it a classic, sure I do like the movie, but it's nowhere near a classic...

It has a really nice moral, and honestly the moral itself makes it a good movie.

Futuristic classic might be a better term.

Considering the topic has been changed back, watched War of the Worlds yesterday. I really liked it, but I feel that it doesn't stand out as much with the other films based around that subject, but still I see why it was popular. Really brought the emotions up, and that's what makes a film great.

Watched the 2008 Hulk movie last night... not that good...

Day before watched The Blind Side... never saw it so i thought I would, not that bad but lacked something... can't put my finger on it.

Later this week I plan to watch the Iron Giant, loved it as a kid and still kind of do. I remember the video cassete I got of it (I wonder how many people on this forum under 12 remember those) came with a 3.75 inch Iron Giant figure, still have it. XD

I'll have to keep an eye on your brother to make sure when you turn 14 or 15(can't really remember how old you are) he gets around to showing you possibly the greatest movie ever... Pulp Fiction...

I mean... from tasty burgers to people dying in the toilet, the movie has everything... including language, hence the age thing and the fact you should be accompanied while watching...

@ Henri, R rated for America is 18+, and Pg-13 is well... 13+

I'm prefer Sci Fi more than comedy anyway, and have never been a fan of crude movies like that...

There is Bossky... it's not a law to follow the rating system...

I also have watched movies like that, as well as things like Family Guy and all that. if it didn't have all the innuendo, I'd like it...

End of discussion, let's get back on topic.

Jurassic Park 1,000,000/10

Love JP. One of my favorite movies of all time.

Jurassic Park III 8/10

Not as good as the first, but still a good movie.

It's a good movie, but the first is the best, the other two are lacking.
Anyway,

The Hangover - 9/10

Watched it on the weekend. One of my favorite comedy's, it's an awesome movie, but some of you are a little young to see it.(due to some nudity and lots of course language)

Now I just have to see the second one.

Loved the Lost World, but never thought of it as a Jurassic Park movie, seemed like it could stand alone nicely.

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones - 4.5/10

By far the worst of the six Star Wars films. I don't even why I watched it.

HOW CAN YOU CALL ATTACK OF THE CLONES BAD?
(then again it was the first I saw in theaters) sure, the story isn't as fluid, but it's far superior to the first, I mean, Kamino, jango fett, REPUBLIC GUNSHIPS!

Get your priorities straight, it was what the first movie should have been, an introduction to the true intentions of Chancellor Palpatine...

I second that. AotC was my favorite. It had plenty of action, and helped explain the rest of the movies... I don't know how someone can call it terrible.

It's horrible compared to the original films. Cheesy romance and bad acting from Portman and Hayden make the movie almost a chore to watch. Only the action helps this movie not be completly horrible. I can somewhat agree it is better then the first, but's horrible compared to the others.

So no, I don't need to get my priorities straight.

lol, true, though that's why I got it on dvd, that way I can skip the cheese(badum tss).

It probably was a good movie when the idea arise, however they prefer to use it as a way of turning darth vader into a wussie... though on my opinion:
Still a better love story than twilight

Just watched the pre- Special Edition Star wars (Episode 4 only), way better than what we have now! XD

Also just watched GI Joe The Rise of Cobra...

Not the best movie in the world... in fact I didn't like it, I can say that, but in all honesty, the ending with Zartan was the best part. ;)
